The WACO Museum celebrates its 12th year of capturing visitors imaginations with a move from downtown Troy to our hangar at Historic WACO Field, home of a 2200 foot public grass airstrip, which is located at 1865 S. County Road 25-A, Troy, Ohio, 45373.
Museum exhibits include a WACO primary glider, 1902 Wright Brothers Glider replica, WACO 4 replica, the Mackey Taperwing, owned by Goodrich Corp., and a WACO UPF-7. These last two are fully functional flying aircraft. Many spectacular photo murals grace the walls of the 7500 square foot facility. Additional exhibits feature some of the thousands of rare WACO photographs held by the WACO Historical Society and numerous WACO factory and WWII WACO combat glider artifacts and photos.
The museum also features 10 WACO RC models, some interactive displays, a museum theater /classroom, numerous WACO and other vintage aircraft scale models, radial aircraft engines, vintage propellers, a museum archive library and a museum gift shop you will want to explore.
Our goal is to capture the spirit of a working hangar by having real operational aircraft, perhaps undergoing maintenance or preparing for take off while you watch, interspersed among the many exhibits.
The museum is open Saturday & Sunday 1-5pm March through October. Admission is $5.00 for adults; students and WACO Historical Society members are admitted free.
